New recipes

Well, I stink! I wanted to use this to post about recipes I found online, but I have made several different recipes and have not blogged about them. So here I am. :)

I found a recipe for Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi. It was super easy and tasted really good. I did change the recipe a bit. I did not have any wine and I was serving some church members so I opted to try it out with sparkling grape juice. I did not like the grape juice it gave the shrimp a sweet-ish flavor that I did not like.

Ingredients:

Instructions:
  • Bake at 350 degree oven for about 6 to 7 minutes. YOU CAN SAUTE THIS ON TOP OF THE STOVE INSTEAD OF IN THE OVEN
  • Be careful not to overcook the Shrimp. The shrimp is done when it has turned pink
I also used the pre-cooked shrimp instead of fresh shrimp, simply because I could not fathom the idea of "deveining" the shrimp. I did find another recipe that claims to be "straight from the master chef himself, Michael LaDuke." You can find the other recipe here: http://shrimpscampirecipe.org/

I paired this with a recipe that I found for Olive Garden Fettucine Alfredo.

Ingredients:
Servings:
6

Directions:

Total Time: 25 mins

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
  2. When butter is melted, add cream cheese.
  3. When the cream cheese is softened, add heavy cream.
  4. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 15-20 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in parmesan.
  7. Serve over hot fettucine noodles.
This was a really good recipe. I did not change anything with this. It tasted really good. I could not get the cream sauce to be really smooth, it had some chunks of cheese. I may not have used the correct pan, but it did taste good. I served this to some people from the church and they loved it.

I am going to try to keep up on this. Just for myself, cuz I am terrible at keeping up on a diary or now a blog. lol
